Some Excel Shortcuts Related Questions You May Have

Do Excel keyboard shortcuts work the same on Mac and Windows?
Most Windows Excel shortcuts have a Mac equivalent, but the keys are different. On Mac, you use ⌘ (Command) instead of Ctrl, and Option instead of Alt.

What is the Mac equivalent of the Ctrl key in Excel?
It's the ⌘ (Command) key. So Ctrl + C on Windows becomes ⌘ + C on Mac.

Are there Excel shortcuts that only work on Windows?
Yes. The Alt key shortcuts for ribbon navigation are Windows-only. There's no direct Mac equivalent for those. I've marked these as "Not available" in the list above.

What is the fastest way to learn Excel keyboard shortcuts?
Pick 5-10 that you'd actually use every day. Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V, Ctrl + Z, and Ctrl + Shift + L are good ones to start with. Use them until they're automatic, then add more.

Do Excel keyboard shortcuts work in Google Sheets?
The basic ones like Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V, and Ctrl + Z work in both. But the Alt key sequences for ribbon navigation are Excel-only and won't work in Google Sheets.

Can I create custom keyboard shortcuts in Excel?
Not directly. There's no built-in option for it. But there's a workaround. You can record a macro, then assign a Ctrl-based shortcut to it using the Macro Dialog Box (Alt + F8 on Windows, Option + F8 on Mac)
